Privacy
What a lynkd.cc link records when you open it.
What is recorded
When a short link is opened, one row is written describing the visit:
- Device type, operating system and browser
- Whether the link opened inside an app's built-in browser
- Approximate country, region and city, derived from the network request by our host
- The referring page, if the browser sent one
- The browser's user-agent string
- The link that was opened, and when
What is not recorded
- No raw IP address is stored. Location is resolved before the record is written and only the coarse result is kept.
- No name, email address or account is attached to a click.
- No cross-site advertising or retargeting pixel runs on the redirect.
- Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers.
Cookies
Links belonging to Cashcade, the client attribution product, set one first-party identifier so that repeat opens of the same link are not counted as separate people. It contains a random value and nothing else. Ordinary short links set no cookie.
Why
The counts tell Synoxus and its clients which videos and posts actually send people somewhere, so content decisions are made on evidence. That is the entire purpose.
Retention and requests
Click records are kept while the link exists and are deleted with it. To ask what is held or to have records removed, write to support@synoxus.com.
